Who Am I You Ask?
An adventurer. An intuitive communicator. A nature lover. A gentle spirit. A history lover. A quirky creator. A risk-taker. A perpetual learner. Dependable. A student. A hard worker.
An actor.
My name is Julia Jones and I am Kansas City-based actor and singer. After graduating Magna Cum Laude at Wagner College in New York City I moved back to Kansas. Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the KC arts community and building relationships.
As an artist, I have had great opportunities to build inspiration by traveling throughout Europe and our own country. I continue to foster my personal and spiritual growth by spending time with friends and family, reading, discovering other cultures, and enjoying the outdoors!
At Wagner College I trained in Stanislavsky and Hagan-based acting technique, with classes in movement, voice and diction and dance. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance and a minor in Marketing. Wagner has left me with a magnificent foundation and invaluable experiences which I will take with me as I begin my professional career.
I experienced a lot of growth in college, but that was significantly influenced by the other important aspects of my life.
Born in Florida, I grew up in the Midwest and moved frequently because of my mom's career. I have called Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin and New York my home at some point, but Leawood, Kansas is my current home. My mother, however, being a born and bred Louisiana native has instilled a sense of southern heritage in me , which I am very proud of.
I grew up as an only child and had plenty of time to devote to myself. I spent time creating games indoors and outdoors, reading constantly and getting to know people.
In middle school, I participated in a number of community theatre productions and was a member of an all-youth theatre group called Y.E.S. Troupe based in Springfield, Missouri. I spent my high school years at Emma Willard School, an all-girls boarding school in Troy, New York. There I was heavily involved in school programs, activities and volunteering. I sang in our three choirs, was the captain of our cross country team and was an active participant of our theatre community.
Today I continue to work on my craft taking from my past and current experiences. I find life to be thrilling and by continuing to develop my personal strength and spiritual faith, I know that I can accomplish my goals and dreams!
